Lately

So school has started back up again, and all the hussle and bussle is driving me crazy. Im takin upper divisional classes for my communications major and it is a killer. Being so used to taking tests and studying notes have been replaced with papers and reading journals. I am taking my first online class and I am partial on the idea of it. I have been used to going to class and listening to lecture. Not reading discussion boards and research. But enough complaining.

I am back in the Sun Devil marching band, and it has been non stop teaching freshmen drill and music. I have met some interesting people; as well had some experiences that deal with borderline heat exhaustion. Despite the heat, I have had some fun.

At this moment I am really missing summer and missing my close friends. My best friend is in the NAVY and is currently in the middle of the ocean and I hope he is doing well and he keeps safe. The other is doing her thing in Disney World and working for them.

Well this is what has been happening lately.

Determined

Not sure how to start off with this first sentence but, I got accepted to Arizona State the other day! I must say that this is a huge step for me. I've been stuck in a stupid and embaressing community college for the last three year coming out of high school. I hated saying that I went to it, but I have to give it some credit. It is a great school and it really helped me build connections and give me an idea what i want to really major in. It gave me an opportunity to work as a reporter and give me a taste for what it takes to become one. It really solidified the fact that I never want to become a reporter as well. I found that i really want to expand my horizons as a journalist. I love photography, and broadcasting the most.
Sadly, I need a higher GPA to get into the Cronkite school for journalism but it is giving me time to get internships and to get my name out there.
I am proud to say that I am a Sun Devil, and get to go to one of the biggest schools in the nation.
But, that is all.

Hmmm...

Well, I know I am really great on keeping up to date with this blog. Sorry. School has been killing me, work has been interesting, and my internship has been working me pretty good.
Since the last time i have been on a lot of things have changed in my life. I growing up a little more.
First I decided to start a diet, I know everyone has been saying that recently. I am doing it not to lose weight persay, but to teach myself to live a much healthier lifestyle. And in doing so I have lost roughly 15 pounds! It has been difficult to train my body to grab an apple instead of a candy bar, but it is definitely worth it. I am trying to go to the gym 4-5 days a week and do ATLEAST 30 mins. of olyptical every time. I have started to notice on how I feel, how much more stamina I have and how much bigger my muscles are :).
I never got to blog about my super exciting spring break! Well, my family decided to go to Mexico for three days and leave me at home to watch our dog. Which I do not mind! I did get one day to go up to Flagstaff, AZ and get a great day of skiing in. It was a great way to have some peace and quiet in the house, and no, I did not throw a party or anything. I had a couple good friends over and I cooked my famous cherry-coke ribs and asperagus, and they brought a pie and some drinks. We spent the night just talking and watching Jackass 3. It was a great way to start off my break. My folks came back that Tuesday night and then left again for a quick trip up to Michigan to visit the college that my sister is going to next year. She loved the campus and my folks liked the campus too, my father is just nervous of the inevitable of the youngest child leaving high school and going to college in a different state. However, a great portion of my fathers side of the family lives about 1-10 miles from the campus so we know she is in great hands. The remainder of the break was spent by me taking photos and catching up on sleep preparing myself to go back to school.
I have applied to go to Arizona State University to study in their broadcasting school. They are one of the most state of the art campus' in America for journalism and Broadcasting, so I hope i get in!
I also had heard some news over break that my best friend is going to be doing a 6 month internship for Disney World! When I heard the news it was a bitter sweet experience. On one hand I am so so so soooo happy for her to do something that she has wanted to do for quite some time now and she is one of the biggest Disney freaks I have ever met. And no she is not 6 years old. The other way I felt is that she is going to be gone for 6 months, trust me I have a hard time if I don't see her for a month. Over the past summer she spent the three months in Colorado working as a waitress with one of her friends and that was a hard three months with out her. But I know she will have a great time and I am proud of her that she is doing something that she loves and is going for it.
And lastly I went out today after doing my article for the newspaper and bought some 35mm film for my Pentax and Canon ae-1, I can't wait to get some great shots and to get them developed so I can learn photography a little better. But I am leaving you with a photo I found from my trip to San Francisco I took a couple years back. Ever since I found this, I wanted to go back.

Neglecting.

Sorry I have been neglecting to post a new blog. I know that my followers were on edge for awhile, well my apologizes. I havent been writing do to the fact that school has started to pick up for me and having so many commitments to different things.
For awhile I wasn't sure on what I wanted to write about so I noticed that everyone is making all of these bucketlists on different topics, whether it is life, food, or trips. So I decided that being a journalism student I wanted to do a list of people I would want to sit down and do an interview with. These are in no particular order.
Shawn White (snowboarder).
Barack Obama (current president).
Tim Mcllrath (lead singer of Rise Against).
Erin Andrews (ESPN personality).
Tony Hawk (professional skateboarder).
Robert Dyrdek(professional skateboarder).
Explosions In the Sky (whole band).
Donald Trump (The Man).
Tom Delonge (singer, song-writer).
Tom Osbourne (current athletic director for University of Nebraska).
Bo Pelini (current football head coach of University of Nebraska).
Vince Lombardi (Packers coach).
Kanye West (rapper).
Walter Cronkite (journalist).
Neil Young (musician).
Bob Dylan (musician).
Richard Nixon (president).
Dennis Erikson (current Arizona State head football coach).
John Harbaugh (current Baltimore Ravens head football coach).
This is a tentative list as of right now, I would love to interview all of them (even though some are dead). If anyone has any contacts with these people you should hook it up!

First.

Okay, so this isn't my first blog, I usually write about sports and different articles for my school newspaper and on their online area. This time I feel that this blog is going to be a mixture of sports writing, and what ever is on my mind and maybe to have some fun.
I honestly don't have a clue on what to write about, I am a guy that is not one to publicly tell people how I feel, and usually I can not stand people who use these things to complain about their life.
I have never been much of a writer all through out my life, I couldn't stand it in elementary school and continuing through high school. I guess when I graduated high school something changed me. I started getting really interested in sports and and not long after I took a newspaper writing class. Immediately I found it fun, I started getting more interested and pondering questions about players and teams. Once the semester was drawing to a close my professor recommended to me to join the newspaper staff, and to be honest the first thing that came to my mind was "NO," but after giving it some thought I signed up for the class and it became a great way to get through the week. Plus the other staff members have become friends that I can hang out with and enjoy seeing on a daily basis. After seeing some of my friends doing this blogger thing, I decided to give it a shot. So I hope you enjoy what I have to say, and I appreciate you taking the time to read it.
